The long weekend of National Day is coming so it’s the perfect time to host some gatherings and parties. And if you are in need of some pastries, desserts or sweet treats to feed your guests, you can probably find them all from Melvados.
They carry a wide varieties of products, ranging from breads, cakes, pies, brownies, ready-to-eat meals to even ice cream, most of which are frozen. Hence you can get them well in advance and reheat them on the day of occasion itself, eliminating youself from some last minute catering frenzy.
And so I get to try out a couple of Melvados’ products over the weekends and the personal favorites will be the brownies platter and Oneh Oneh cake. The brownies platter come on in 5 varieties of brownies with different toppings and richness of the fudgy chocolate, of which mine preference will be the one with macadamia nuts as always.
The Oneh Oneh cake has a nice gula melaka flavor topped with an abundance of coconut shreds and isn’t too sweet for that option. In addition, we also had the Laksa pies, Kimchi and cheese flatbread, Chempedek cake and an assortment of ice cream.
Oh yes, we also tried out the rather unassuming looking garlic bread sticks which turns out to be surprisingly tasty especially when dipped in the roasted red capsicum pesto. For one, I enjoyed garlic breads of all sorts and for a second, finger foods like such are always welcoming because you certainly won’t be able to stop at one when you are on a drama or movie binge.
