Movie Review : Crawl

It’s EWT’s weekly movie feed once again ! And this time, we went for a jaw breaking, heart dropping thriller that goes by the title CRAWL. To be honest, I went for the show with little expectations, considering the fact that this movie is not a block buster and was made even lower profile with little advertorials. Furthermore, when I was checking on the seats availability from the theater, it was almost liked constantly available.

Amazingly by the time I laid my hands on the movie tickets just 2 minutes before the show, the seats occupancy was already liked 80% filled. And well this is certainly quite an achievement especially since it’s a weekday session that I went for. Probably the cheaper rates as GV movie cub member on Tuesday accelerates the sale of it but still, it’s pretty commendable.

Coming back to the show, it’s an ultimate thriller with many heart dropping scenes and sound effects that probably isn’t quite meant for the faint-hearted. But since I love thrillers, so I find it very exhilarating and exciting. Just when you thought the dad and daughter duo had made it out of danger one after another round of intensifying narrow escape from alligators and flooding waters, the script writer brings you to another level of exhilaration by putting them into yet another perilous challenge.

I feel my heart literally dropped a few times at the sudden out burst of sound effects every time the presence of alligators appear in unexpected instants. In a nutshell, this show narrates how a daughter and father duo make it out of a horrifying dangerous situation from alligators and hurricane flooding waters that kept them trapped beneath the basement of their house injured and battled from witnessing how several people were also mercilessly devoured by the heartless creatures. Fortunately the daughter who was a competitive swimmer puts her swimming and determination skills to test by beating against all odds to survive the disaster.

In short, I really enjoyed this movie. And best of it all, it was a compact 1.5 hours show because anything longer will just make the movie appear too lengthy and make one feel restless. The ending was a good one too with the duo being rescued eventually after numerous counts of near deaths situations.

So ya, do give this show a shot if you are gamed on. Hopefully there will be more of such awesome thrillers coming up again !
