The location is a stall in a coffee shop and what surprises me is that you can pay by credit card here ! And OCBC card holders even get 10% discount with $30 food purchases. I am not sure whether this kind of promotion is found in any other zhi chay stall, but I really find it quite rare. We had only three dishes this time as we ordered prawns and our ‘target’ of $30 has reached. Previously we tried the salted egg yolk crab here and it tastes fantastic ! So this time we thought of having the same sauce on the prawns. But much to our disappointment, somehow it doesn’t work as well here as with the crabs. I would think that the salted egg yolk wasn’t enough this time, therefore it couldn’t bring out the desired taste. But the vegetables with ikan bilis was really good. The vegetables are simmered till soft, even the stems are very tender. Its combination with the ikan bilis works very well and it totally brings out the favour of the vegetables. The hot plate deer meat with ginger and spring onion was not bad too. The meat was of the right texture, wasn’t too tough and the sauce was not too salty either. ^-^

My name is Joyce, author of Eat What Tonight. Spending time in the kitchen has been one of my greatest therapeutic passion thus far even though I couldn't do it on a more often basis than I wish I could. I do not prized myself as a great cook or baker, after all I am a one-woman show in the kitchen and blogging scene. Nevertheless, I hope this little space of mine can aspire anyone like myself to appreciate and enjoy the best of oneself's efforts in every single home made dish.
